Sink drains?

Hi all - I have a quick (hopefully) question - I need to replace the sink drains in the kitchen sink.  Are the 2" RV drains you see on Amazon (for say $15 dollars) the same thing as the bar drains…Continue

Well, my converter is also a battery charger (says so right on the front panel - LOL).  But I left shore power plugged in for 24 hours with no other drain and it's definitely not charging.  I have it…Continue

Some Good...and, Some Bad

First let me start by sharing that we all survived our first overnight camping trip!  By we I mean my mother, the dog, the cat, and myself.  Juno still has a long list of things to do, but we had water, fully working electric, a working toilet, good bedding, a fridge, and mechanically needed to put her through some paces so when I take her back they can try to track down the oil/transmission fluid leak (I think it's the former from the cardboard spots).…See More

Full-timed a few years ago, and although we made every mistake in the book, I didn't get it out of my blood. Or maybe I always had it, and the experience didn't deter me.

This time we are doing a few things differently. Purchased a cheaper (older) and smaller (key is MUCH smaller) RV to fix up This time we will have a "home base" we can always retreat to.

In realtime I am a going-on-gray web designer, am back in school studying anthropology and taking art and writing classes. I live with three rescues - a cat, a border collie mix and eccentric, but much adored, boyfriend.

Just a Quick Rundown of Progress

Lately the pics from camera have been terrible so not going to post any, but did want to at least do a quick update on progress:

-Curtains finished and rehung.  Valance upholstered and that and dinette blind reinstalled

-Dinette -u-shape bench modification finished, and cushion/upholstery finished for that.

-Kitchen backsplash smart tiles installed - only one wall looks like it is melting where I managed to install two sheets at angles.  Instead of using the…

Juno's Back!! And she now has a "face"

I am so ecstatic to report that I picked up Juno from the mechanic's last Thursday and she and I had our virgin trip together.  It was definitely a happy honeymoon.  Do you know I signed the papers on her in October and this was the first time I actually was behind the wheel on the road??!  Rick didn't get her here until January and then she sat in the yard until I could get the roof sealed, and finally the mechanic took pity on me and came and got her because of the stall on idle issue.  I…

Not Dead in a Ditch - Take Two - Part II - Curtains, Upholstery and Plumbing

While Juno is at the mechanics, mom and I are tackling the curtains and upholstery.  She'd finished one side of the dinette prior:

She used the old cushions as a template, and we salvaged the vinyl backings and the zippers.  That's five inches of high…

I'm here to congratulate on you being "featured".  Can someone tell me what "featured" means?  Is there a page for featured RV'ers or something that I can read?

Congrats!  :)

Dawn ,its best to tarp cover during cold rainy ugly nasty weather,,, roof sealers and such dont bond very well in wet conditions. Thats a project for better weather days.. The plus side,, it gives you the excuse to tinker on the inside,,, you know,, those little things that you want to do, but usually fall on a nice sunshiney day when you don't really want to be inside. This is the time to do those little projects. You sound as if its Christmas morning with a new toy and just cant wait to play,, I admire your enthusiasm.. Have fun and enjoy.. and dont forget, take pictures.

Dawn my advice don't delay every minuet you delay is 10 minuets of fun and enjoyment you are missing i have a 1976 Winnie and i wanted to buy one in 1976 when this thing was new instead i waited till 2015 to get mine so that is 39 yrs of fun and enjoyment i have missed out on all because i delayed for one thing or another. when you do jump make sure you will get one you can be not only happy in but also proud to own and as for repairs look at it this way your brick and morter home has to have repairs on all the time too so this way your investing in your enjoyment good luck and happy camping
