Need help with RV electrical outlet...not like a household outlet?

Hi all - Decided I would tackle replacing two of the outlets myself (they don't screw into the wall - the box hole was cut too large and one actually shows a melted insert).  So I ordered RV outlets…Continue

Alrighty!  I'm finally off the roof (yay!) and starting to trace my systems and I have a plumbing question if anyone can throw their two cents in?  My tank is under one of the dinette seats and I…Continue

Hi all - Finally, a sunny weekend, so I began to tackle the dreaded corner trim job.  Only dreaded because of the poor soul (as I cursed him or her for hours today) who thought it was a good idea to…Continue

Full-timed a few years ago, and although we made every mistake in the book, I didn't get it out of my blood. Or maybe I always had it, and the experience didn't deter me.

This time we are doing a few things differently. Purchased a cheaper (older) and smaller (key is MUCH smaller) RV to fix up This time we will have a "home base" we can always retreat to.

In realtime I am a going-on-gray web designer, am back in school studying anthropology and taking art and writing classes. I live with three rescues - a cat, a border collie mix and eccentric, but much adored, boyfriend.

Not Dead in a Ditch - Take Two - Part II - Curtains, Upholstery and Plumbing

While Juno is at the mechanics, mom and I are tackling the curtains and upholstery.  She'd finished one side of the dinette prior:

She used the old cushions as a template, and we salvaged the vinyl backings and the zippers.  That's five inches of high…

Not Dead in a Ditch - Take Two - Part I - Mechanical Update

Apparently my previous post was lost when I did a couple of edits, so going to try again and split it into two parts.  If you think you've read it before, then you probably did! LOL!

Just wanted to give an update as it's been a little while and while progress is slow, it has been happening.

Most importantly Juno finally went to the mechanics!!  WOOT WOOT.

My guy is awesome - he even came and got it for me since I was nervous about taking it on…

Just a short update, no pics :-(

It's been awhile, but fixes have been progressing at the rate of Methuselah.

Mostly because of my lack of skills and knowledge.  How could plumbing be so complicated you ask?  It's actually not.  My rig is 21 foot - there's a couple of short runs and everything with a connection is accessible.  A couple of back twisters but only because I don't move quite like I used to :-)  For Lakota's young buck in the WalMart parking lot it would be a breeze!  And, seriously, my…

And the major sealing is done!!!!!!

Can I say yeehaw!  I'm finally off the roof!!

The new ac shroud came in last week (Camping World order took about a week direct from manufacturer).  Fixing the old one became an exercise in futility.  I did learn a lot about fiberglass, though, from my mistakes.  I don't regret my decision - it looks great.  The old shroud is going to become a little goldfish pond.

So, confessions.  I have come to despise dicor with a passion.  Stuff didn't set up fast, I was…

I'm here to congratulate on you being "featured".  Can someone tell me what "featured" means?  Is there a page for featured RV'ers or something that I can read?

Congrats!  :)

Dawn ,its best to tarp cover during cold rainy ugly nasty weather,,, roof sealers and such dont bond very well in wet conditions. Thats a project for better weather days.. The plus side,, it gives you the excuse to tinker on the inside,,, you know,, those little things that you want to do, but usually fall on a nice sunshiney day when you don't really want to be inside. This is the time to do those little projects. You sound as if its Christmas morning with a new toy and just cant wait to play,, I admire your enthusiasm.. Have fun and enjoy.. and dont forget, take pictures.

Dawn my advice don't delay every minuet you delay is 10 minuets of fun and enjoyment you are missing i have a 1976 Winnie and i wanted to buy one in 1976 when this thing was new instead i waited till 2015 to get mine so that is 39 yrs of fun and enjoyment i have missed out on all because i delayed for one thing or another. when you do jump make sure you will get one you can be not only happy in but also proud to own and as for repairs look at it this way your brick and morter home has to have repairs on all the time too so this way your investing in your enjoyment good luck and happy camping
