I have a pre 1960 Go Lite Camper produced by Herzig Manufacturing company out of Nebraska. It seems I may be about the only one that still has one functioning and still on the road enjoying the camping scene.

hi mike, my son bought a 60's GO-LITE from a now ex girlfriend's parents about 4-5 years ago. he had it storage untill 3 weeks ago, when we pulled it to our home. we plan on redoing it this summer so hopefully we will be able to post some pics along the way. we  have tried to find info on the web also, but not having very much luck. if you could post some pics of yours,so we get some ideas and inspiration!!

Hi Bruce, I am glad to here of another fellow Go-Lite owner. I will try to get some additional pics of the camper for you. I am very interested to see if your camper follows the same body type and layout. When they built these campers they were definitely meant to last awhile. If only the camper could talk! Thanks again for replying!

Hi Mike, I'm the son with the '64 Go-Lite. (or as my car club members call it, the Stop-Heavy!) Somewhere I have some literature about the camper, hopefully it did not get damaged in a flood I had a couple years ago. I'll have to dig to find it. But I'll scan and post it if I do. My ex's grandfather bought this one new in '64 and brought it to the MN state fairgrounds for several years for an electrical contractors expo. Its in really nice shape, just a little TLC needed. Our plan is to update the mechanicals but keep the appearance preserved. Good luck with your project. We all need it! (Oh, and I don't know if I would want my camper to talk! haha)

I just acquired my great grandpas 1964 Go Lite by Herzig out of Fremont,NE. I live in Nebraska.
Where is the VIN on your camper Michael? Can't find it on mine.
Hello! I just found this site and this thread in my quest to find out more information on our newly acquired Go-Lite 13-foot camper. We have not ascertained the year, but are certain that is pre-1968...we think perhaps 1964. We have found what we believe to be part of the VIN?

Just wondering if anyone has any insight into our new little gem!! Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!! It seems to be quite difficult to find much info on these particular campers!

Here is a link to an album on Google Photos:

Thanks!!

Just FYI...I finally figured out that we had indeed discovered the VIN/serial number and the model year is 1963. Yay!

I have a 1963 go-lite also, please tell me where you found the VIN?  Thanks

Wow, your lucky to have so much inside to identify your beauty.

That is certainly your basic camper on the outside! inside it is really nice to see the pre-dark brown paneling we have in so may campers. Hope most of it is still original since that really adds to the character of a camper like that one. Welcome to GORV's!

Hello! I have a 1964 Go Lite! :)
I've not found much more than everyone else here, but I do know that the Herzig company was based out of Fremont, NE and I believe they made these campers starting in 1957.
I just joined the site, so if I can figure out how to post pics, I will.
