Greetings All - This is for any of the folks here who might know anything about the history of Aristocrat motor homes. I've been doing lots of homework trying to find out more about my coach. According to the American Clipper owners web site, Irv Perch started the American Clipper line of motor homes in 1973 and there were only three Clippers built in that year. The web site says all early Clippers were on Dodge chassis. Since mine is a Chevy chassis, I'm still stumped. Also, my coach looks nothing like any of the Clipper photos I've seen. My coach has all the same interior decor and materials that I'm seeing in the 72-73 bumper-pulled trailers from Aristocrat. I'm beginning to think that I have a very rare Aristocrat motor home that was built before the American Clipper line was started. I think perhaps it was a late '72 model year because the title says '73. Maybe it was a prototype or perhaps special ordered by someone at the time. The American Clipper web site says production began in 73. If anyone can shed light on this...I'd be very grateful!!

Hi Scott, Aristocrat was built by Bendix Corp, mid to late 60s til just a couple of years ago. there other lines were Citation and Corsair, truck campers, TTs class A&C MHs and Mobilehomes, hope this helps.   Rick
I wanted to express my gratitude to Pat Daly for featuring my coach. Since I'm relatively new to this web site...I wasn't aware there was such mystery about Aristocrat versus American Clipper Coaches. For those who might have noticed...a previous owner put a newer front grille and headlight assembly in the front end so it looks like an '80 or '82 van. This complicates things further but it's definitely a '73. On this web site...Joe Martinez has photos of his 1972 Land Star which has the identical bathroom as my coach.
