Its always better to be extra safe and one less thing to worry about..
P.S. Im highly qualified in typonese,,lol
Hope your trip to the lake was fine. Just curious, are the Toyos narrower than the Generals that you had? If they are, did it change your gas mileage at all?
We will be replacing ours in the fall and trying to decide if narrower will help our 7.5 mpg. Thanks in advance.
I think they were the same, but I am embarrassed to say I am not positive on that!
an 85 series tire will be narrower than a 75 series tire, but the rolling resistance will be the same. The minimal differences between radial tires rolling resistance will not effect MPGs. And width will have no effect what so ever.
Now, the rolling resistance between bias ply and radial tires is quite a bit, and there could be a minimal effect on MPGs.
So, as long as you are buying radial tires you will automatically get the lowest rolling resistance.
It's not just peace of mind when adding new tires, it means being a responsible RV owner/driver avoiding possible accidents that could injure /kill people. Not trying to be dramatic. I've spent 37 years working EMS and have seen too many preventable accidents happen that were caused by bad tires. Congratulations for being a responsible RV owner working to prevent possible accidents. Ya done good kid ;-) .
