This was a question posed on another Forum and is so out of touch with my typical chosen campgrounds (Natl Forest, BLM, Army Corps, Water Management Districts, Fish & Wildlife, City or County Parks, Dispersed totally free campgrounds) I thought it fun to post it here also.

QUESTION what are the most expensive campgrounds you have come across??

My answer was NOT for a month, NOT for a week, BUT A DAILY RATE OF $302.62 at Campland on the Bay in San Diego CA. Our son lives close to there so we have actually dry camped a few days for $40 per day.

So when are we all gonna meet there for a Rally??????????????????

PS Im a free market capitalist, I DO NOT begrudge the rich, their RV's and Boats and Yachts create jobs for those who make them and Ive NEVER got a job from a poor person. I just choose to keep more of my money by camping where I mentioned instead of paying $302.62 PER DAY

PS Im sure some of those ultra exclusive RV Resorts with covered decks and outdoor grilles and porches and  kitchenettes and washer n dryer etc etc are even higher, but $300 per day isn't no cheap park lol  If they saw me driving in my rig they would call the SWAT team.

PS2 The pic is me free camped for like 12 days at an Antique Tractor Show in Zolfo Springs Florida but the reason why is I was an Exhibitor, see my sandwich board old tractor electrical system displays and a magneto test stand??

only $302 per day..thts cheap...lol   I have run into a few campgrounds that ask how old you rig is,,nothing over 10 yrs old..well count me out on that campground.  even though we just bought a brand new 2016 coachman.  We had previously camped for 10 yrs in something at least 15 years old or older. So I am offended when they ask how old your camper is..forget the "new" only campgrounds

Yea, the old question,, How Old? Heck most of California won't let you in with anything OVER 5 years old, Even if its a Collectable McMansion.  But if you want to stay cheap, park along any side street in any California town and camp out,, the only rule is,, You have to sleep on the side walk,(they cant arrest you if your sleeping on the side walk) But they can if your sleeping in your RV. But hey, its free.

It just so happens, were on our way in the RV to San Diego again right now. Currently at a Cracker Barrel in Oklahoma City.  When we must stay in San Diego there are a couple Military Parks (I'm retired DOD so can stay there)  and we also use Campland on the Bay where dry camp in the lot is $35 but we have to stay close to where the sons wedding takes poalce and that's Santa Fe RV Resort in LaJolla  where with the Passport America discojun t its like $37

Ya got do what ya gotta do at times lol byut usualy its Natl Forest or BLM or Army Corps or inm transit Wal Mart or Crackler Barrel or K Mart or Flying J etc.
