I've had many different electrical goblins over the years, but this is something new.

My directional signals on our 1988 class C ford coachmen began intermittantly working on our last trip, then quit altogether.

I replaced the flasher and it was fixed.

A week later I started the RV to go gas it up and the rear flashers came on and stayed on constantly as long as the motor ran or the key was turned on.

The fronts did not.

If I turn on the four way flashers, they all come on.

If I turn use the directional lever on the steering wheel, it operates the signals on each side normally, overriding the four ways.

But if I simply turn the engine on, the rear flashers come on and just stay on.

I have bought both a new flasher for the directional signals and the four way flashers and it still is doing this.

I am good at many things, but auto electic is not one of them, any help would be welcomed.

Flasher problem solved!

The tiny piece of spring steel used  in the turn signal switch to keep pressure on the signal lever fell down and onto the rear light contacts and acted like a bridge circuit, keeping both the rear signals going.

One of the mechanics at work suggested exactly this probably happened, so I pulled the steering wheel and darned if he wasn't right.
Sorry, I didn't read you had fixed the problem.....I can't seem to get rid of my comment.  Well, glad you fixed it and thanks for sharing.
