Well it is official, I am an old fart. Since I purchased our motorhome 7 yrs ago at the ripe old age of 64 I have come to the conclusion that I am showing my age. Not just in the looks department but in the ability to do the things that I used to do. It gets tougher to get down on my knees to work on something and then get back up. When we first started rving the wife and I could do 8 hours of driving (wife does not drive) with no problem. Now we must limit our driving to about 4 hrs. Mostly for the wife and dog, but I am finding it more enjoyable myself to travel shorter distances usually 200-225 miles a day. My problem is in boondocking. If we break camp at about 9:00 am and arrive to our next spot at 1:00-2:00 pm at a Walmart, what to do until bedtime. My wife can not walk, so even if we were in the forest, we just sit there and stare at each other. That is ok for me as my wife is gorgeous but I hate to torch er her.

Now to my point, what to do to pass time when boondocking? We have a generator and a tv and a DVD player, but I can't sit and watch tv or movies all day, but my wife can. So, how far do you drive each day and what keeps you occupied while boondocking?

Im strapped to oxygen 24/7 now, and I used to always stay busty tinkering... I get outside and tinker a lil with what oxygen I can spare just to keep from going crazy,,, I cut out different things in scrap wood and hand them out to friends,, it aint much but is better then sitting and watching tv waiting to die,,, occupy your mind with a project or hobby...

Thanks Lakota, That is what I am looking for, an idea to keep me busy on the road. At home I have a wood shop and I make things on the Lathe. It would not be an option to take the Lathe on the road. I was hoping for something that I could do on the computer and Not be on the internet. I like to tax my mind. I don't want to brag but with an IQ of 147 I have a problem solving mind. I don't really like reading a book and puzzles get boring after a while.

So thanks for the suggestion and keep them coming please.

Check this out. Lots of free, interesting and challenging online courses.

I find it very useful during winter months as well as late evening/early mornings - I don't sleep a lot.

Your IQ would be an asset, but not necessary for all of the offerings.
