A good ole fashioned cleaning and flushing of your tanks can be done with BLEACH Water.
I take about a half gallon of bleach and pour into the fresh water holding tank, and then add about 5 plus gallons of water, I will move the RV, (in motorhome, drive a few miles down the road with bumps, dips etc. To basically SLOSH the cleaner all around in the tank.) (travel trailers pretty much same way). Get back to dump site (place where I can empty the fresh water tank).. Empty it out,, then refill Full and then drain.
Same goes for waste tanks, Fill with Solution of bleach water. (DO NOT ADD ANY OTHER CHEMICALS).
Fill about 1/3 to half full and drive around to slosh it around. Empty at dump site and flush clean water thru system, Close waste tank and fill 3/4s or close to full and drain. You mite have to do this several times. You can fill the waste tank via the toilet stool, or get a back flush adaptor i.e. at walmart.
I have had good success taking garden hose and just filling the tank through the toilet, using those new tank wands that have a directional nozzel on them. When your tank is flushed and cleaned,, put a couple gallons of water with an RV sanitizer (I prefer the blue liquid), and you shouldnt have that SMELL .
The grey tank can be done same way,, by pouring bleach water solution down the sinks and shower drains.
