THE worst I've driven yet - even worse than CA I-5

Then it was on to 78 (slated to be the new I-22) which was either smooth as glass or so torn up I couldn't get over 40mph!!!

I pulled a fiver from sallisaw ok toward oklahoma city last autumn. It was a terrible experience. Finally got an opportunity to get off 40, and brought hwy 9 back to oklahoma city.

I-40 from OK City west to amarillo is in good shape.

You said it Oklahoma roads suck!!! and I live here. It must be a dying art like GOOD parts men. The difference in a good parts man and a bad one is the good one knows what BOOKS are used for. Unlike the bad ones that use them to stand on to be able to see the screen on their computer. hahahahaha   But you are right, the roads here Suck!!! I have found that traveling the back roads is a lot better on your but, as well as the suspension on your rig. I-40 east of OKC is rougher than a corn cob. The Turnpikes here are fairly smooth, but you have to be a millionaire to travel them(cost outrageous).  If anyone has a solid front axle Motorhome Like my Travco, you know what I am talking about. It sucks that our state can't fix these roads properly. I will say that traveling the back roads is a lot more fun though. When you stop at a Braums to replenish your frig with good dairy products it is amazing how many people have to come look at our Vintage Travco. I don't know about anyone else, but it makes me feel good about what I have, and the work that's been put into it. so here is what I have to say. If you have a GOOD suspension and a REALLY GOOD seat, go ahead and travel the Interstates here. But if you want to enjoy Gods country, try ole Route 66, or US 270 or even US 77 or US 81. you will travel though some small towns, and some large ones as well. And the roads will probably be a little smoother, and you can see what Oklahoma has to offer.

Just got back from Oklahoma and one lane of the on ramp on I-40 was a total washboard! UGH...however, it is a matter of perspective beyond that since the roads in SW PA are even more of a mess. I am of the opinion that there are no good roads anymore either and it must be a dying art.
