I am trying to decide if I am going to carpet the drivers area of my van project. It still has the factory rubber floor covering and is in good shape. So I considered just repainting it black.
As most of you know rubber and paint don't mix very well you need something that will bite into the rubber. I found this on line and figured I'd pass it along.
If you take 15 oz of ordinary rubber cement then mix it with 3 oz of oil based paint and then use paint thinner to reduce to brush consistency you can paint your rubber mats and such.
Of course the rubber has to be clean and dry.
