LED Lights

 Previously I converted to LED lighting, some of which were the simplest and easiest method to buy a direct 1156 Bulb replacement. However, some had that awful blue tint (I think 6000 degrees Kelvin) and some didn't produce enough light. HOWEVER I recently bought a new unit THAT PRODUCES 300 LUMENS (much more light then the cheaper units),,,,,,,,,,That develops a 3000/3500 Degree Kelvin Warm White Color,,,,,,,,,,,,,That can be made to fit any of six different bulb or fuse sockets,,,,,,,,,,,,,,And unlike the $25 Bulbs, costs only $6.24. That's a win win win situation in my book. More light, better color, less cost.

I found quickly that the panels are far better than the "bulb" type replacements. I have them in all the fixtures in my Allegro. You HAVE to order "warm white". "White" is actually blue.

Mine came with double-sided stick tape that lasted about 3 or 4 minutes. They panels will drop down onto the lenses, which is no big deal because they don't get hot.

I've had groups of LEDs in several panels (4 or 5 of about 20) fail. They flicker when they're cold, but stop once they're warmed up. The light up in the cab is "white" - notice the blue tint on the curtains.

I've posted this before, but the difference between the 1156 bulbs and the LED panels is immense. Far less power draw and tons more light:

 Jim, that's EXACTLY my experience. The flat panel systems are more efficient then the round bulbs in which case half or more of the light is directed up instead of all down like the flat panel system..............
