This unit works off of the power steering pump, basically a hydraulic valve. Would
appreciate any help in finding a new or rebuilt unit.

I took my hydraboost unit to my local auto parts and flopped it on the counter...They had one in stock!! Maybe you'll get lucky also.
You can find them at "Pick a Part" wrecking yards they are common and on lots of trucks and vans.
Just don't get the one on Astro vans they are under powered for your application.
What happened to yours? I never heard of one going bad.
Leaking around the plunger.
Thanks
"I never heard of one going bad."
HUH?..Mine did.
Haven't had any luck locally, O'reilly can send it in to Cardone to be rebuilt, prefer that
route over used one.
Finally! O'Reilly found one in Georgia. On the road again!!!!
I know those old Dodge vans pretty well and I could be wrong but i've never seen a brake booster that works off the power stearing pump in any Dodge van and or motorhome evean the larger class-A Dodge motorhomes the brake booster's were vacuum. in the case of your class-C just go into any auto parts store and say you need a brake booster for a 1978 Dodge MB-300 van and they should either have it or be able to order it for you.
Like I said I could be wrong! I've have never seen one.
my 78 Landau has it and I am pretty sure it has the wrong fluid in it. The brakes should not be as tough as they are. According to my book it uses a SPECIAL clear Mopar fluid!
I am thinking of putting a modern version on my 95 cummins cause its on its 3rd vac booster!
my 76 exlporer 260 has weak brakes. how do I check to see if it's the brakes or the booster unite?
