Propane tanks

Do most people just exchange tanks or refill? Thanks

 Its not so much a choice anymore, its IF THERES PLACES AVAIALBLE THAT WILL FILL YOUR TANKS versus the more common nowadays PROPANE EXCHANGE FACILITIES. If you have a 30# tank it seems easier to find RV parks or RV dealers or LP gas vendors that will fill them (or 20# for that matter), while it seems the 20# tanks are more avaialable for echange at Wally World or Lowes or Menards or Hardware Stores maybe in the $18 to $20 price range and many are open long hours. In Avon Park Florida near our winter RV park I take our 30# in and its like $21 for a refill at Camper Corral while I think at Wally World its almost that much for a 20# exchange.

 

 Id do 1) Whats cheapest versus 2) Whats readily available and handy if its an emergeny outage.

Depends where your at. if yur near rv facilities or wallys etc what ever is convient. I've done both. I have a 40lber i refill and carry a 20lber if in a pinch for fuel.
