So Hamlet was hit and killed by a drunk driver coming out of Mono Lake CA. I collected the insurance money removed the vital organs laid up a new frame built a new box installed the salvaged components and Ham the second was born. I trailered the remains of Ham to the scrap yard and lifted a glass as the claw took Ham's remains to RV heaven. Ham II is 81 inches wide by 10 feet long and has a 7 foot ceiling , he has vents, micro wave , shower , toilet (wife hates camp ground facilities) queen bed AM/FM/CD/XFM/DVD and satellite, AC, 4 batteries, invertor, outside sink, built in stove oven and BBQ, diamond plate boxes front and rear ABS siding foam insulation and much more. All the new Ham needs is paint and me and the queen are on the road.
So to those that read this diatribe
Where in California shall I and my better half go first????? I am damn sure NOT going back to Mono fricking lake

Farewell to an old friend and may Ham 2 bring you many many memories. Thanks for sharing.
BTW I would like to hook up with fellow home RV builders and vintage RVer's in CA. just for a laugh and maybe a beer
Me and the wife (me mostly) are 4Wheelers and fish when we get the chance
We would enjoy seeing Ham the 2nd. can you post some photos? that would be great. Note... the 2nd icon from the left is the add photo icon.
Man, what a hunt'n story on how you got the 1st one. Folks up in Cany are always real nice and hospitable. After hearing about the child using the camper for target practice, I think I might have opted out for the bullet hole stickers at the auto parts store. I guess if your into authentic & vintage, it was probably right for you after the coffee & snacks. Did you have any problem with US customs at the border?
Drove it straight across into Dakota without a question I did get a ticket in Idaho for no plates and one in California for the same. The CHP told me I should have gone through Washington and Oregon because the registration laws are lax there
When I register it they created a tongue number I had already striped it down to the frame and installed a floor so it just took a statement of fact (affidavit)
It was a lot easier than I thought it would be
Hi Jeff, here in ohio you can take a trailer to any weight station and receive a weight ticket. With that you can pay for a trailer registration and receive a trailer license plate for one full year.
Then of course it can be renewed every year by giving them more money.
Nice people in Canada I had never been up there before , I was never into authentic or vintage until I got the Ham
I think what got me started was I was looking on line trying to figure out what I was going to do with this thing when I came across a Ham that was done up like a 50's diner . It was loaded with stainless steel and was pink with black polka dots
