I can add, The 1972 Chieftan had Gold and Bright highway emergency ORANGE, Now if that didnt let people know you was sideways in the road, I dont know what would.
Hi Chris,my 1966 Winnebago motorhome #121 has gold stripes on each side and my 1967 F-19 has them as well.The stripes on the 1967 are part of the flying W.Winnebago trailers in the 60's also had gold stripes with the W.
Has anyone figured why at about this time, all RV's switched over to the gold stripe pattern. Before 1970 makers were using a star pattern, or a V design, in their exterior paint, who started the gold stripe concept?
