Got the pump sorted out. The people at airbagit.com knew exactly what the problem was. I had the pressure cut-out switch behind the drainback valve. I relocated it and it works fine. But now the drain valve on the Jet Co tank is leaking. It's a pretty standard 1/4" valve - just need to swing by Lowe's to get one. And...see that thing on the bumper? It's a license plate. All registered and insured. I plan to take a quick trip around the block after work to see how things shake out. The front tires are severely dry rotted so I'm not going far. 6 new tires are on the way (ouch).
