Sure thats not the Gensets STATOR that went out?? They are an AC alternator with a rotating ROTOR and the outer stationay STATOR into which voltage is induced due to the magnetic field ROTOR rotating within???

Anywho NICE LOOKIN OLDER FORD

I owned a ton of those Ford 460 Class C's and one thing that eventually went out on all of them was the water pump THEY ARE A MAJOR BEAR TO CHANGE GRRRRRRRRRR It got to the point when I bought one the very first thing I did was pull the factory 3 core radiator and replace it with a new heavier duty 4 core and went ahead and replaced the water pump as its so much easier when the radiator is absent. Then with all new belts and all hoses you can run cool and trouble free for yearssssssss.

Their other common problem is breaking the rear exhaust manifiold bolt which eventually pits the head and manifold from exhaust gas leakage. I often replaced the manifolds (or have old ones planed/milled down smooth) and if necessary plane/mill the head surface where the mainfoldS mate THATS ALSO A BEAR OF A JOB. I always removed or had to drill out the old exh manifold studs but if replaced with new grade 8 studs/bolts with anti sieze and using brass nuts THEN YOURE GOOD TO GO FOR YEARSSSSSSSS.

If I recall correctly, Ford used that small rear exhaust EGR crossover pipe that could rust and leak exhaust grrrrrrrrrrrrr. Similar, they were known to have an EGR problem but thats not too bad to replace.

Finally lol they can be a bear to keep sufficient fuel up to the engine, the electric fuel pumps and filters need to be in top shape.

I had good luck with the C6 Transmissions if you kept them serviced and I ALWAYS
added an external auxiliary tranny fluid cooler

HEY I DONT MEAN TO SCARE YOU JUST OFFER ADVICE Thats a great lookin older coach and if you take care of it (especially maintain the roof NO LEAKS ALLOWED) it will give you years of good service........ Keep the engine cool,,,,,,,,keep fuel up to the engine,,,,,,,,run all NEW belts and hoses and 10 Ply Load Range E tires

Happy motoring, see you on the road

Ol John T in Indiana (I got tired of dern Fords and finally got me a 454 Chevy with the 4L 80 E Overdrive Tranny woo hoo) lol
