Pat, I adore vintage trailers and they are so much fun...like you say...as you drive by old vintage trailers, I do look for sway bars and 99.9% don't have one. My thoughts go to another world...a world I don't wanna be in...one day again maybe...if I do...I think it will only be to dry camp. Who knows...but not right now...blah!
Sorry about the misfortune I hope you all get back into it again someday the vintage ones have personality
Hi Cravin, yea...she was a cutie....don't think I will end up with another any time soon....don't think I can emotionally.
Boy you really had her dolled up for sure!!
Lisa and I have been thinking about getting another trailer...last weekend we went out looking at dealerships for a used one...that didn't work out....then I put all of my memories and fears aside and said to Lisa...what do you think about going back to a vintage....she's given it some thought and we both decided because we have fluff butts that air co would be better.
Last night she was sending me links off of Craigslist to look at and I just opened up this link and aw the picture...of the one on its side....I don't think I'm ready. Seeing that...it's just too raw...I don't think I can do it. *SIGH*
HI Leah, yeah, if this happened to me, I'd still be kneeling on the ground thanking God for my life. Let us all know how things turn out for you, Patti
Hi Patrcia...I'm not ignoring you...just trying to think and give the best possible answer for ya...still trying to wrap my thoughts around what happened....please be a bit patient and it scared the day lights out of all of us involved.
Hi, so sorry this accident happened to you and your darling camper. I am new to vintage trailers and being the one who pulls mine down the road, your experience opened my eyes. I put my camper in the hands of a trailer shop for new leaf springs, safety chain redo and to inspect the ball housing. Tomorrow, I'm going to tell them to install a sway bar. Do you think the stuff we carry around inside our campers led to some of your trouble? I tend to load a little heavier up front thinking that the weight inside would be shifted equally between the axle and the tongue. Maybe I should rethink what I'm doing when I pack up. I'm telling my glamping friends tonight about your accident and before we take off again next Spring, we all need to focus more on the mechanics of our rigs to ensure a safe trip. I hope all comes out well with your insurance company and thank God no injuries occurred. Tale care. Patti
