My husband, Greg took these pics just as we were pulling away for the first time ever with Rosie to go on our first trip. This was the first...and this was the last.

Tim,
I follow you...absolutely. In my Trailblazer I have a braking system, but not in the Flex. Do you think this made a difference? I used the braking system in the Trailblazer for my 26' footer. I drove from South Carolina (home) to here where I live in Washington, have gone all over around here to Idaho and Oregon and to Alaska and back on the Alcan....so I have quite a bit of experience driving with trailers....I'm still in awe...she is sitting next to my driveway totaled as I'm waiting on the insurance company....Ughhghghgghhg.....sigh!
No good ideas, just some thoughts. How much weight you have on your hitch is really important. If you get the load wrong (too much stuff in the rear), it will cause the tongue to get light resulting in trailer sway. Over loaded radials will also cause sway. Also for the folks who haven't experienced sever sway, speeding up sometimes will allow you to regain control. Trying to abruptly slow down usually makes things worse, so its best to slowly slow down, if that makes sense. The folks with trailer brakes can manually apply a little trailer brake and pull the sway out too.
Directly on the tongue was 2 small propane tanks...that's it. You have any ideas?
Just out of curiosity, how much tongue weight do you think you had when you left for the trip?
Pat, I keep trying to wrap my head around it and all of it just doesn't make sense. Going back and forth with insurance company now. *SIGH* I'd rather have our trailer back!
