So heres what we ended up doing.. We liked the rafters so much we figured out a way to keep them visable. The fabric (which has a faint zebra stripe!) Is wrapped around one inch thick foam insulation. Easier said then done, glue comes through the fabric, and most fabric glues are not for styrafoam. So a guy at lowes suggested duck tape, but it didnt stick to the fabric.. So, to get it tight, with no glue coming through, we glued the fabric to the duck tape on the side going up in the rafters! Tada!

How did you attach the panels to the ceiling?

I really like how this looks- nice job. I've discovered Gorilla Glue has a great tape out that might have worked better- it sticks! Also, did you spray glue? They do have styrafoam types. You would have to be careful of that as well though, just be skillful and lucky?!LOL. I even thought about Wallpaper paste- the clear vinyl kind- just because I used it to wrap a thin denim on a cardboard display frame (liner) recently and it turned out great. I guess it's all up for a shot in our trailers and RVs- we have to be creative about so many things and you certainly were with a great outcome.

I love the way it looks.  What a difference!

Thanks for posting how you did it.

Thanks for the tip. I'm getting ready to redu the ceiling and want to use fabric, but the issue of what to use for insulation and how to attach it all has been nagging at me. I knew that glue and styrafoam didn't meld and so... your solution is helpful. Thanks for posting!!
