After a crop duster over shot his field, several RV's suffered the wrath of pesticide damage. With it sitting on the roof for several days in the Hot Texas sun (digits in the 100's). Makes an excellent roof coating remover. The yellowing is still remnants of the pesticide.

local boy here says its an antifungal and grass hopper pesticide. Grass hoppers a/k/a/ locust are starting to get bad. Its a corn crop on the back side of the park here and I figured the tall tree line wouldda stoped what ever they would have sprayed... Course with very little wind,, probly a good thing,,the spray kinda lingered in a nice cloud till it settled instead of being blown all over.We did find out the dusting company is contracted out of Dallas Fort worth and supposed to send down a rep from that company and the chemical company rep from Mcgregor chemicals.I will do the work myself,,, I dont want some yahoo up on my roof getting stooooopid,, and I just have them pick up the tab,of material and labor, and have them donate a nice check to homeless vets society.
This stuff peels paint and they are putting it on food that people are going to consume? its enough to make one ill just thinking about what are are consuming without knowing it. Is it any wonder why Alzheimer's, cancer, etc. is on the increase? the way we are being poisoned by our food supply is just disgusting. But that is aside the point here.
I wonder what the heck they were actually spread'n Lakota. Others have the same stains & spots? Those sites near a spray area or down wind from the areas are places to not go. It is enjoyable though, watching the AG Cats and the front row fumigation alleviates the mosquitoes that for sure.
It's good your taking this seriously Lakota, you never know what kinds of junk they put in pesticides these days. you might want to save a few of those yellowed chips of roof material for possible analysis at a later date. good luck and good health too you.
I was up on the roof today and closely surveyed the situation, and concluded that I will have to completely strip the roof back down to metal and re-prime and recoat the entire roof.
I had planed a recoat as part of my maintenance regime.
As far as vehicles,,, the wifes truck wasn't here at the time the incident happened, But the Ford got a good coat. I ran it through local self serve car wash and got the *film off,, but it looks as tho the paint took some serious fade,, or more like instant 5 yrs of weathered age. I'm not so stressed about the truck paint,, it was a rattle can special with clear coat. (lol).
The side windows on the ole 5'er are not really comming clean,,looks like oil dots speckling the glass. I used s.o.s. pad and bleach to scrub, and even used polishing compound and the end result is those stupid looking oil dots and some streaks on the glass, still sneak back out.
One window I even used vinegar and newspaper, the ole glass cleaning trick with no avail.
Its not real noticable unless your looking for it,, but I can see it and its one of my pet peeves, seeing somethng that isnt right. I cleaned up the grab handles and the step deck with bleach water just I wouldnt track anything in the house. Then to be extra safe, Stripped the bed lines along with curtains and cushion covers and got them washed, I even mopped the floor and wiped the walls down,,just incase I put hand on a wall or touched anything after being up on the roof.
I do believe for once I can pass for hospital sterilization,,(LOL) Hopefully the situation will be resolved soon.
I was concerned about the a/c on the roof, and took the cover off and cleaned up the residue that made its way in there, and replaced the inside air filters. Made a call to the doc and he said I shouldnt have any problems sinse I wasnt in direct contact of the actual chemicals, But I have appt, for a check up just to be safe.
BTW.. only 4 other RV trailers were affected, and are experiencing the same problem with the roof coat peeling.
Wow Lakota, sorry to see that mess; if it's there it's everywhere else. have yourself checked out and find the dumb a$$ that done it. I would think they would have to carry substantial insurance to spray these days. If you can't get relief from them go for the property owner.
Is it doing any damage to the paint on your trucks?
