The Mini's are awesome. Compact but roomy at the same time. I agree with the V-6 over the 20R or 22R for hills. Nice rig.
Pat, when I bought the sunrader, it had the 22r 4 cyl. engine with 4 speed manual tranny. The 22r didn’t have the power to pull well in the mountains, so I built headers, added weber carb, 5 speed manual tranny and rv cam, which helped on the power problem but still was not good in the mountains. As a result I bought a GM 4.3 Vortec v6 with 5 speed manual tranny, added weber carb and dual independent exhaust system. This gave me 250 hp as opposed to 100 hp with the 22r. This made the sunrader a dream to drive and the mileage is as good or better than the 22r.
The toyota v6 is a better choice than the 22r and will get you150 hp and would be an easy switch.
I had considered the toyota v6 switch but wanted more hp.
I had to do a 2 inch cab and coach lift to get the engine and tranny to fit but worked out great. Will post more pictures as soon as it quits raining and I can got some new pics.
