I was thinking the air foil over the front, to protect from wind while traveling,,, and looking at building a frame around the full length of the panel and putting plexi glass over the top for extra protection...   You have some very good ideas,, The under side being 1/8 sounds like an excellent idea. Thanks for the input..

That's good Lakota. They sound like the marine application panels. Maybe what you could do is buy a sheet of fiberglass panel at Home Depot and use a adhesive of some sort and apply it to the back of the cell panel and face of the fiberglass panel. then do same to affix it to the roof of your trailer. might work. But it would be very difficult to remove if you ever have to change them again. Another idea is to make a 1"x3" frame put 1/8" plywood on the frame, then affix the cell panels to the plywood. Then on the forward section of the panel placement, build a airdam that directs the airflow over the panel area of the roof. I did that on my roof vents when I curbed them 3/4".

These I believe were manufactured by solar america. These type DO NOT Handle 60 mph plus winds. I ordered the flexible roll out 300 watt solar panels, No glass and you can actually walk on them. No more solar panel frames that wind can get underneath. I was fortunate to have gotten these to TEST and rate for the distributor.. They get 5 stars for steady voltage and wattage and MINUS 5 stars for weather durabilty, especially wind.

Any type of warranty on those Lakota. I've never seen panels destroyed like those. I had looked at some of the marine applications just because of what your showing. Ocean elements are the most destructive I think, so I thought therefore, marine designs must be more durable. It is getting more radiant (UV) in our atmosphere these days. Who made those Lakota, do you know?
