Tell us a little About Yourself
I just retired @ 62 in July. In July of this year my leas is up and I want to buy an RV and hit the road. It is something I always wanted to do. My parents did too, but my dad died @43 and my Mom @ 57 so they never did it. By God for me and for them, I am going to do it!!
UPDATE:
I have now starting the second year of my dream in Branson,Mo. I am on my second Motorhome a 1982 "Georgie Boy Ceuzer, 30' upgraded from a 28' 1976 Southwind about 3 months ago. I have also been very blessed to meet and fall in love with a beautiful Phillipino and we are getting married August 5th here in Branson. If any of you plan on being close or passing through the area then please let me know and you are invited to the reception here in the Park.

In the great state of Alaska!   My Argosy is in Homer, or up to Anchorage and all points in between!  :)  She is (sadly) for sale.

G'day David, Got your request, unfortunately for you, our Motorhome was sold, good luck in your search... Let me know what you are looking for and how much work you are willing to put into it... There are some great deals in my area for good running Motorhomes that need various stages of TLC...

Best of luck in your search,

K. George

Hey David,

I'm hoping to hit a July/August target for launch as well...

Good luck with finding a coach you like.  It took me several weeks of pounding on the internet and calling folks.  I knew I'd probably have to be willing to travel to find one at the price I wanted to pay but being older was ok as long as most things worked  - kinda' how I'd describe me...

Anyway, I found one, in Michigan, and I'm in GA even a little bigger than what I as looking for, but I'm glad I found it.  Old enough to still be simple and user maintained, built by a coach builder with a good reputation and the previous owner was very knowledgable about all of the good, bad and ugly with the coach.

But the search was pretty frustrating at times,  I'd be almost on my way to go pick the coach and the dealer would call and say something like "Well, you know the hot water heater doesn't work and the gennie is bad..." - Click - keep looking - just don't get discouraged.

Good luck, See ya' on the road soon,

-Stu

Welcome David! Looks like you're going to live the dream... fulltiming. Suggest that you follow some of the blogs under our Dry Camping links on right of home page; think you'll enjoy "cowboy" and particularly the famous George and Ms. Tioga. As for Leadville I'm thinking that the whole of Colorado and particularly around Silverton is a wonderful place to dry camp with many places just outside of town... in the summer which comes late to the high country. Then why drop down to New Mexico in fall and then Arizona for winter? That might be an interesting first year. On the way to Florida be sure to visit the redneck riviera... the Florida Panhandle and barrier islands before venturing down as far as, say, Fort Myers for winter (kind of expensive and make reservations at least 5 months in advance. Enjoy the GORVs group.
