Tell us a little About Yourself
My wife Jo Anne and I have a 1989 Telstar Champion we camp a number of times a year around our state, Washington. When we got the motor home we knew nothing about it, except that it was clean and pretty!!. It took us a summer to work learn all about it and we love it!!....We aren't sure of the "B" or "C" issue, however, it is more than big enough for the two of us....

New Purchase

Well,  a couple weeks ago, my wife and I, traded our '89 Telstar Champion in for an '06 Forest River Lexington RV. We had enjoyed the Champ very much as it was our first RV and took it a several adventures. However, it had some issues that no matter how much I tried, I couldn't solve. The main one was its musty smell, my wife has a most sensitive sense of smell and it was quite strong for her. We got used to it after a few hours on the road, but it permeated everything inside. So when we saw…

I never did determine what the rocker switch went to. The wiring was traced up to the headliner and into a group of more wires. Didn't want to pull the headliner at this time.

Possibly may be to turn on the hidden lights above the cabinets ?  It doesn't turn any of them on now but only a couple of them operate by the front rocker switch. Do you have one located in the bathroom/bed area of yours?

Thank you so much for the comment on my Telstar.

I removed the existing carpet and installed flooring purchased from Lowes with the backing foam attached to each parcel board. I did not place the flooring under the seating/dinette chairs because i wanted the entire floor to "float" during temperature changes and flexing of the RV. I left approximately 3/8 to 1/2" gap between floor material and wall areas, covering with quarter round molding. So far the floor has not buckled or appeared to separate. I did not glue the floor in any area. I didn't put the flooring in the bath room because i didn't want it to get wet when using shower and humidity from bath area. I also didn't want the toilet to be bolted down on the flooring restricting movement during expansion/contraction of temperature/moisture conditions.

So far, we have taken two short distance weekend camping trips to try things out. Once with just RV and once pulling my little commuter car behind on dolly. Been fun so far. Hope to get some use of it this fall.

When time allows, i will try to post a list of things i have done to the RV to date.

Thanks again, and please let me know if you have any questions. I will be glad to help in any way.
