After 4 years of ownership, and 6 months of work (did I mention, WORK?), our lil' Smokey is DONE!!
While it was in pretty good shape when we bought it, we could see that it had had some old water damage from its past. After moving to FL (from WI), we took advantage of the nice winter weather and tackled the job. As usual, it turned out to be much more than we anticipated! Then entire rear had to be torn down to the skin; rebuild walls, ceiling and floors; insulate, new paneling/ceiling/floors; paint the entire interior (including hardware, windows and stove/oven); new curtains; and reupholster cushions.
Whew!! But, we think the work was worth it. Just in time, as this will be our tiny home for 3 months this summer, as we "work" as volunteer campground hosts for the National Forest Service back in WI.
Best project? I L.O.V.E. the "concrete" resurfacing on the table, counter and front window shelf! Luxury vinyl flooring (leftover from our home remodel) comes in a close second...along with the repainted stove.
Here's a few before and after pics. Enjoy....and, hope to see you on the road!

Hi Sandy, the work, time and money spent is well represented here. congratulations it really is a very nice project
The counter/table was done with Henry Feather Finish (powdered underlayment patch and skimcoat) from Home Depot. We sealed it with Minwax waterbased Polycrylic - just wipe on with a sponge (several coats). I had seen other blogs about using this (camper and home). Here's one link I referenced: http://karapaslaydesigns.com/diy-ardex-concrete-countertops/
Note: it gives the look of concrete, but is super light, actually. Just like paint layers. Also, I liked the "patchy" look, but if you sand it more and make your layers even, it will be more uniform.
Great Job!! The work part we all can relate to. Let us know how the camp hosting goes we are thinking of doing that.
Lovely! Congrats on a job well done. :)
That concrete resurfacing looks great. Do you have a how to link or anything for info on how to do that?
Very pretty
:)
