As I continue to rework my camper and not sure if one would say it's a vintage or just an old camper, I still take a break now and than to look for the VIN# which I still have not found. I do not believe it is on the side of the tongue of the camper and if it was on a label plate mounted on the tongue it's gone. I am in the long process of trying to get a reassign VIN# so I can register the camper cause the weight is more than 2500 lbs. and the state required all trailer to be registered, not tagged, but register over 2500 lbs.. If any one knows of someone or have a 1971 - 1973 dual axel Noman Camper (my is 19'2" long) with a VIN# on it and would share the location of or photo of the location, I would really appreciate it. But I still have a long way to go before its finished. the outside is 95% done and the weather has turned cold, so I have moved to the inside with a electric heater. I have the walls finished as far as the replacement of bad wood, working on the electrical part now and framing the front wall for the shelf and build in head board for the bed. I also working on closing in the rear compartment area, still lots and lots to do. Till next time, be safe, be good. Randy

Antony, I have numbers on both sides of the of jack post. the right side is the Model # and Patent #, the left side has letters and numbers, but I don't know if it the VIN#. Doesn't seem long enough for a VIN, its like 8 digits. I thought VIN# are more like 12 to 13 digits.

I don't know if it'll help but I found the vin on mine right by the Jack on top of the tongue. I don't have the same kind of trailer but maybe it'll help.

Congratulation on the discovery Randell, little things like that serve to enhance your enthusiasm. Best wishes on the eventual resolution.  .

Just yesterday I founded out that my Nomad camper is actually a 1970 and not a 1973. I found the twin sister to mind, but still does not help me as far as VIN# location. Helps in the fact that I know now what year I have for the paper work that I have to do for registration of the camper.

I'll have to check, I did fine and old trailer license plate nailed over a hole after I pulled up the floor on a floor dated 1980. It may have been a tag for that camper or may not have been. I would quest not, but....

Do you have an Auto theft task force through your local DMV?. They have the means to locate a Vin number on vehicles and trailers.
