Dodge 360, blown engine in a '74 class C Mini Winnie

She's dead fred.

Came over Loveland pass, no problemo and down through Denver heading home and east from Southern California on Interstate 80. Misfiring started in Nebraska and plenty of oily smoke out the exhaust.

Well not good because I'm headed for home in northern Wisconsin.

Walmart, oil and prayer.

35 quarts of oil later I am back, a little shaken and  tired as the leaves are coming fast on the trees here in the north.

The engine, Dodge 360, blew at 140K miles. My buddy as a '75 class C Minnie Winnie with a rebuilt tranny and Dodge 360 with 75K he selling me for $300, the camper portion is done so I'll be swapping engines, maybe the trans and wrecking the rest of it out. If anyone needs parts and pieces let me know.

This won't be a project for the timid.

Glad you decided to do it. Will not be a cake walk, but in the long run you might be money ahead from selling all the spare parts. BTW, I would put in the rebuilt tranny and keep yours for a spare.

If the AC unit works I would be interested in it. The rear one on my MH went belly up last year and I just do not have $1000 to replace it.

Hi Bill, there is hopefully a lot of useable parts. Water pump, furnace, hot water heater, fridge, just to name a few. Check out all the appliances and pull everything that still works. Used parts like that will sell on Craigslist, and possible on here, and you should be able to regroup your $300 investment on those alone. Good luck on the engine swap. Be sure to keep us posted with pics and what steps you are doing.
