there are 2 fusible links that run from the battery to the firewall. check for power through these on the inside of the fire wall.  is this a class A or C....does it have a van front end??

ford and chevy run 13.8 system volts...dodge a little higher at 14.3. (thats why the dual ballast) they did this i believe because they ran one gauge smaller wire than they should of...lol. look under the dash for a junction that runs to the column. that may be melted down ona terminal. there should be a wire from the ign switch thats hot when the switch is in the start position.

is this thing cranking or we working on spark? the ballast resistor on the firewall is for voltage reduction to the coil. usually a dual ballast on that year dodge( with one resistance for starting and one for running). the start solenoid has 2 small terminals, an S lug and an I lug. hot the S lug and she cranks. the I lug will in turn send current to the coil, via the ballast resister for extra hot spark for starting.
