Got a new and improved blog as they say....

This one's been active since we got the LH2 (an Allegro '87 class A) and I've been working the bugs out of her. Fun, excitement, travel, drama it's all there.

Take a look and laugh and cry at the stuff we go through.

Have a good one and all the best to you....

It was the governor gear! Got to Camping World, rolled under the RV with a 1/2" wrench and pulled it out. The plastic gear was completely shot and cupped out. Went to the local shop (Jake's Auto in Liverpool) and he did the gear swap for free! Took 2 minutes to install with my hand-made gasket and some sealer in the parking lot and we were off with my DW in pursuit in the minivan. Now for a transmission oil/filter change! Bet those gear bits are floating around in the pan....

In the panic of the moment and having to deal with nervous wife and 4 kids I just didn't have the presence of mind to just check the basics or remember if I did. All I can fall back on is my experience with this stuff and go from there. Thanks on the luck. I'll take as much as folks will offer!

Yup... I always check the vacumm line first,, vibration problem is usually the culprit,,, and as you mentioned in your post,, the plastic gear,, but all in all those are tough trannies... good luck on the repair,,
