During the work week, I've made a list of things to take on that don't take a lot of time commitment to finish. This morning I got two things attended to.
First a bent up vent outside that goes to the water heater control area (I think) It looks like someone tried to get into it without pulling down the canopy bar. You can't get the door open with the canopy bar in the upright position.
So I got that all straightened up and back in there correctly.
Next I got the stove vent removed. This will need re-framing because the wood around it had rotted. I removed it completely and will probably get a new one. This one is warped out of shape from heat or something. I will also add a piece of screening to the inside of it, so the bees can't fly in and build their homes in the stove fan anymore.
I had mentioned that the furnace duct that runs under the couch/bed was crushed by the frame, this is what it looks like right now. I'll be taking that project on tomorrow morning, the register vent is blocked pretty good too. (sorry no pic of that one)
Waiting on some supplies to come in from Amazon and Ebay throughout the week. This weekend should be some decent accomplishments.
I'll take the advice and go with the toenailing, and Ken..thanks for the tip on pre-drilling. I'll do that. :)
I have decided how to fill the wood holes from taking out the rotted stuff on the floor of the cabover. I'm going to use the great stuff and have an idea on how to keep it flat and smooth on the top. We'll see if it works. After they are filled I'm going to put a 1/4" sheet of plywood over the top to make it look all purdy again. ;-)
Heading back out to look for screws and nails that get in the way of framing.
Little by little, piece by piece. :)
