After going through 4 days of below zero temps,,,we can finally turn our water on and finish with the sponge baths and use the shower like normal. Being in an RV park and full timming in an RV,, there are things that have to be done,, Like turning the water off and disconnecting the supply hose. The Park managers went to each and every RV here and gave them a letter stating that the RV owners MUST turn the water spigot off and disconnect the hose,,, or the RV owner will be responsible for ANY damage done from the spigot freezing inside the hose.
To me thats COMMON sense. But apparently,, several people here chose to IGNORE the warning and left things be, Welllllllllll, The following morning,, Park manager says, due to NUMEROUS frozen and broken spigots,, water will be off till they are repaired. The office had a half dozen tennants screaming about frozen supply hoses and cracked connections at the spigot AND to the RV,, expecting the Manager to PAY to have the RV connections replaced or repaired. Some even demanded that the ruptured pipes INSIDE their RVs be repaired by the Park. It wasnt to bad,, the managers did have a contractor come out and quickly get the frozen spigots, approx 14 of them replaced and the water running again. There was only 6 RV'ers including myself who HEEDED the warning of frozen pipes and spigots.A couple RV's suffered extensive water damage before the water froze then cracking the spigots,, basically shutting off the flow of water.... Natures freeze sealed up the leak,,lol.
It seems to me,, that if a Park manager gives you fair advanced warning of freezing and possible damage,, one would heed that advice.
But it seems the ones who didnt heed the warning and advice were to busy with their hustle and bustle life and expected someone else to take accountablity to their ignorance.... So a bit of advice,, if your RV'ing and the weather is going below freezing,,, take the 2 minutes to disconnect your water line and have containers of water on standby. And if you don't heed the advice and warnings,, you should then buck up and swallow your pride and hold yourself accountable for your lack of common sense.

Ya just can't fix stupid or pig headedness.
I was going to say - they were advised and warned? Come on people! We made a lot of rookie mistakes our first winter in Denver and I expect we'll continue to make them now that we are RVing again, but if they park went out of their way to notify people - sigh.
