I am building an awning for our 1966 Kit companion. Cost around $150.00. It is 11 feet long by 8 feet wide. Looks almost original, doesn't require ropes to hold it down and stores in the trailer. I will post pictues soon! Almost every thing was bought at a local hard ware store including the awning material. Sounds interesting? Pictures's soon.

When my wife and I bought our trailer last year. I noticed that it had 12 volt lights already added to it. What it didn't have was a converter! The previous owner ran all the wires under the dinette seat and had 2 deep cycle batterys wired in series with the 12 volt wires attached to one of the batterys. First thing I did was take the batterys out of the inside of the trailer. Next I went to our local RV store to find out how I could hook up the 12 volt system correctly, He was a great help!…

I found a silver streak trailer that has a dry rotted floor. I can buy it reasonable but my concern is replacing the floor without taking every rivit out of every panel to get to it. Interior is great, walls are good, anyone know of a good easy way to repair this problem! Silver streak is a cousin of air stream. Thanks Wade!

Thanks for the info on your decals, can't wait to see your photos. We had our trailer painted late last year and have been trying to figure out or find decals ever since. Most of the photos I see on the web have the same old faded decals that we had (now removed).
well we'll watch your progress with interest. it'll be something to be proud of when you're done!
Thanks guys! I just posted my horribly shot video of, what I just found out from a yahoo group member, is a Sultan's Castle. I'm trying to figure out how much work we're going to need to do before it is really usable. I think my main concern are the workings underneath, namely the axle which looks pretty darn rusty!
Looking for owners of 1960's Kit Companion's Thanks
