Okay, can't stand the air antennae struggling-for-a-channel crap any more!!
Who has satellite TV?
What company and why?
What plan and why?
I'm told that if I move around the country with my dish that I won't be able to get local networks like CBS/ABC/FOX unless I pay for some kind of "mobile package". Anyone know what they're talking about?
I'd ask some satellite dealer these questions but I don't want a freakin' sales pitch from some twit.
Tanx, all!!

i have dish network.i chose it over directv because the channels that i like were in a lower priced package at dish.compare the packages before you buy.i used to take my dish and box with me and set it up at my dads house for a week each year.the local channels are blocked so they can't compete with the local local channels.it was an easy setup at the time because my system only had a single lnb.the two or three lnb dishes are much harder to set up.i assume my current box would work with a single lnb but i would loose channels.with certain dish network boxes you can access them from the internet. i now watch programming from my dish dvr thats at home from anywhere i have internet access including from my iphone while using wifi.
thanks Richard!
Last summer we purchaced a mobile TV satelite kit. We just take our spare Reciever box from the house and we can get DISH without any added extra cost.
btw my dvr works even unhooked from the dish so you could take the dvr with you and just watch recorded shows.
but how far do you go, Nick?
I'm told things get complicated when you start crossing time zones.....
The most we traved away from home has been a couple hundred miles but the Mobile dish works well.
Still trying to find answers from people who travel long distance.
Who has the best deals in satellite TV??
Dish has lower monthly rates but charge a fee every time you change locations (which for us can be almost DAILY!)
Anyone have any answers??
I go camping to get away from TV. Radio news is good enough for me short term.
awesome, Frank!
Thanks, that was really helpful!
LOL
....you should look into http://www.ccrane.com/ - they supposedly have the best radios around.
