I have one but were in Portland, OR. It is from the 70's and uses LP Gas or Electric. Avacado Green
Are you in the portland, OR area? Not sure if it's s three way but it is definately a two way fridge. Would you like to come by and take a look at it. Im thinking $75 bucks for the fridge...
Thank you but I am all the way across the nation in new jersey. Thanks, Pat
the way propane fridges work is a little different from elec.
they take a LONG time to get cold - a good 4-8 hrs min depending on size
they can run on ANY heat source - even a candle - using a complex system of heating and contracting a special mix of chemicals.
BEST upgrade you can do to an older fridge is PUT A FAN IN IT.
the older units just have fins that get cold - that's fine if you only put things against the fins but the rest of the fridge gets hot/cold spots. find a small fan - the BEST ONES are old computer tower cooling fans. they're 12v, usually very efficient, and quiet.
I put one in mine on the top shelf blowing right on the fins. use a small thin wire (22-24gauge) and you can run it right out the side of the door on the hinge side. i ran mine right into the next cabinet where there was a dome light to tap into.
ya, it's a bit "ghetto", but MAN does it make a difference in EFFICIENCY. I have to turn my fridge down almost as low as it will go or everything freezes!
it also cuts WAY down on FROST BUILD UP.....
I can't tell any difference between the fridge running on propane or electric, but I've heard some folks say the propane keeps theirs cooler.
all depends on the difference between the electric heating element and the propane flame.
what you need to keep in mind (and this will cook your noodle...) is the MORE HEAT the COLDER the fridge.
Crowley, Texas we have removed one from a 1972 Fan don`t know much ??? Pay shipping and it is yours ?? We installed a mini frig ac only works fine for us.
Craigslist Craigslist Craigslist....
people are parting out RV's alllll the time
I've seen used ones from $50 to over $300 depending on condition
don't pay more than $100 if they won't guarantee it
Thanks! I'm on the lookout.. I'll certainly post pictures when it goes in the little camper.
