1956 American

Hi all. I am a newbie here. Purchasing and restoring a vintage trailer has been on my written Bucket List for quite some time. I thought a Spartan would be my dream trailer, but figured I'd be pretty happy just finding a trailer of any brand, that I loved, for a price I can afford, that didn't need too much work for my first endeavor.

I recently stumbled upon an opportunity to purchase a 1956 American, 32 footer. In trying to research it, I have hit a dead end on American Coach in general. I was able to find someone (via Tin Can Tourist) who sent me some old ads, and a photo of the exterior of a restored (GORGEOUS!) one from the 40s. That's it. I can't find any pictures by Googling. I can't find a record of any bought or sold on Craigslist or elsewhere for price reference -- or anything else. 

Does anyone here have any information, records, ads -- anything? I'd like to know what my investment should be, etc. Thanks!

TLyn Ford just to welcome you and also to input that if you want premium you will pay dearly.We have rebuilt 4 oldies but goodies and have found all of them in the weeds and been sitting for years. We have themed all of them to fit the personalities (JOHN DEERE,NATIVE AMERICA,NEVER FORGOTTEN,FOREVER IN BLUE JEANS).The last one (JEANS) is done all in all denim. If you put time, energy, and love, into your purchase you will realize all your dreams come true.

um...is that a Park model? 32 feet was kinda long for normal travel trailer use back then...

I skipped the Vintage trailer thing and went for...Vintage Bus conversion, the beginning of Motorhomes. Mines a 1948 Gillig...about 5 thumbs-up per mile....won a car show too...anyway, just sayin.

I have a 1974 Argosy for sale. a LOT like a spartan... a driveable Airstream.   It's in Alaska... I suggest you fly up and drive her on home!  :)

Iam looking for tailights for our 1982 Travelmate motorhome. They have 3 lenses and are surface mount. They were very common in the 70 and 80 not made anymore. Looking to purchase a pair.
