RV Parts Country Dometic Air Conditioner Sell!

I camp all the time for the new readers, but I have bought camper and RV parts for the past 30 years and I have bought from almost every place available to buy from. I finally got content from buying from RV Parts Country in Kentucky because thier prices were lower and service was better. They all have a strong Kentucky accent, so I get a tickle out of calling them as well. But the other day I was going to buy a new Dometic Air conditioner used off a guy on craigslist for $450 that he was going to junk out. I figured I'd call them to see how much a new one was and I bought a 15,000 BTU Dometic Duo Therm Brisk Air from these guys for $639.00 with free shipping and that little box in the inside. I decided for a new one and for some warranty I couldn't pass that up. Out of curiosity, I checked other websites other than RV Parts Country and again, they weren't as good priced. I got it installed and it was great! Thanks again RV Parts Country in Kentucky.

Hello Dick!

 I too must replace the rear air unit in my 1988 allegro.Having never done this can you enlighten me as to how the process works and the difficulty? Also thanks for the info on where to buy one. Thanks Randy

Installation on those units are pretty easy. My old air conditioner was a Dometic Duo Therm so I just bought the same thing. I couldn't get it on my roof by myself, but I had some guys where I was staying help me get it up there and set it on the hole for me. I just basically had them lift the old one off and set this one on that vent sized hole and it just plugged right in. It hooked up and worked fine. I'm not familiar with any of the other camper ac's, but I know the Dometic Air conditioner works great! It was what come stock on all the units I've owned in the past and haven't really had too much trouble except for the one I just replaced. Good Luck Randall!

I just used regular caulk from Lowes to put it on with. It's the same brand as the RV placed sell for campers but it just like 2 dollars a tube vs 10 dollars. I just put it around the base of the Dometic air conditioner. The guys helping me put it on said not to use any the seal would be enough but I'm the kind of guy that would rather be safe than sorry lol

I have a coleman unit now that needs replacing,I wonder if anyone reading this has experience with changing brands such as coleman to dometic?,Also do you simply remove the bolts on the inside unplug it and lift it off? Sorry for all the questions but I am new to this type of maintance. Thank you

I'm not sure how the coleman air conditioners work but that is how I we did the Dometic air conditioner. You may be able to call Dometic for some sort of installation on it.

They should fit in the standard vent hole.  Shut off electric to unit.  Remove interior trim.  Disconnect electric connections to unit.  Remove bolts and bottom plate (inside camper). Unit should now be just siting on top of camper unsecured.  With help access top of camper and remove old unit.  If unit has been caulked in with good caulk you will need a crow bar and a piece of wood for a fulcrum (to prevent damage to roof).  Hardest part is getting these heavy units on and off of the roof.
