Hello all.
I am creating a mobile art studio out of a 1982 (I think) Play Mor single axle trailer. I plan on using it as a mobile art gallery at art shows, events, farmer's markets etc. I also have even talked a friend into doing it too and am hoping to get a good sized group of mobile art galleries and have our own traveling art show. One step at a time though.

& where I am at now. I painted it with gripper paint and the best exterior latex - after much research. I wish I could have used car paint but it was out of the budget. I also did one more weird thing: I had a old solid wood house door put on it. I found it at a salvage center. We'll see how that works! The old one was dented, was missing parts and leaked.
The inside is a work in progress. It is empty with luan on the walls and I painted it yellow. I put u shelves and am waiting for a fold out bench sofa bed and a little desk for the studio. http://www.target.com/p/bancroft-convertible-futon-black/-/A-139912...
If you would like to see more about it it is on my art blog. www.nicolecaulfieldfineart.blospot.com
I am also trying to come u with a name for the roving art gallery... my daughter came u with "Sublime" because it is a green camper and sublime means beauty. I made a whimsical logo... but the jury is still out on it.
I will be having some questions on the camper that I hope you all can help me with..
Like first - I bought a vintage like awning from Marty's and my tent poles from Cabellas - but I won't be able to always put string on the poles if I am in a parking lot (like the art show coming up in a week). I was trying figure out some ingenius way of making a weight out of concrete with a shaft in the center for the poles. Any suggestions would be helpful! I would like shoppers to be able to go under the awning - there will be art displayed in the camper and outside of it and even on the outside walls. I mounted a picture rail right under the awning rail.

coffee cans with concrete jim and suzan
Really? I thought I would have to get into the 5 gallon bucket size. I'll try coffee cans first! Or aint buckets...
We have seen small barrels filled with water used as well. Trailer looks great!
Thanks so much. That is an interesting way to do it! I was by friend's house who is doing a mobile art gallery too and she had a pipe skeleton thing too that stabilized it more. I'm going to give a pvc version a try.
The camper is ready minus the awning! & a good rust removal job for the tires (sigh)
Very cool! You took a brilliant idea and executed it to come up with a unique display vehicle.
This is the perfect setting for your artwork...it just says, 'cheerful'. Your logo is perfect!
Your project looks great. Since my Girl Friend and I are both photographers we were wondering about getting another Class C to convert to a mobile photo studio- Has anyone ever done this before?
