As we are getting ready to get our '77 Dodge Brougham on the road, we were wondering if there is a decal or something to indicate we are members of Good Old RV's? We have had one shakedown and told a couple of folks about the site, but it would be great to have a badge on the rig, maybe with the website address. Is this possible to do?
Tina and Pat - I think that the benefit to Cafe Press is that you do not have to invest in inventory that may sit unsold. You create and submit the design and they do the rest for whatever their fee is. Each item is created as it is ordered. They also have the benefit of offering many styles/sizes/colors of shirts and hats that a small concern could never afford to stock. I am a big gal and usually need multi-X shirts which they have in stock at all times. I have ordered from them many times but do not know all the seller details. Since the hope is to make enough to pay for the website and upgrades, a huge amount of sales would not be necessary.

I too would love to announce to the world that I'm a member. Cafe Press is good but there are other sites now going that are very similar too. Cafe Press ships fast and all you have to do is upload your designs and pick your "stuff" you want it on. More expensive than they used to be but not on all products. Pat, perhaps you should have a logo design contest? Voting on the site, it would be fun. and why are you not asking us for at least a small yearly donation? 5 or 10 dollards would help a lot from all the members and I'm sure we could dig it up- or Paypal donations...We appreciate all your hard work- you should too!
Pat: Sighn up for paypal or some other site like paypal so we can put some money in the pot every month. Until now I had not even thought about the cost of our website. Do it and count me in every month.
Paypal will request a tax ID # if transactions on the account are "too many"... I don't know what number "too many" is. The club could probably get 501c3 non-profit status pretty easily though the paperwork to file for it resembles a mountain. That is probably the way to go to avoid the tax man, although the probably under $3k a year is a tiny blip on the radar.
we could for now get out the check book etc and help you fund the site if you can message an address to send to. Not fair for you to absorb the cost for the rest of us.
Tina
What if we start off small at first with just decals, everyone who wants one put in say 20.00 dollars once an amount of 500.00 dollars is met then order decals and hand those out to the ones that put money in, after that you can take orders as they come in and then add hats and t shirts as demand grows. Also some of the money raised could be used to help with the cost of the running and upgrade of the web site. Just a thought.
Rick
I for one would like to donate to the upkeep of the site even if no one goes forward with decals, etc. If a personal check or money order would work towards that all we need is an address to send them.
I agree fun is fun but that doesn't mean you can't let other people help. Hey your not wanting to turn this into a commercial site. Just let us help with the cost of hosting. Thanks Pat!
Hi Pat, sorry I'm so late chiming in to the discussion. Actually if you create the logo/design, you can upload it to Zazzle.com for FREE and then anyone can put the logo on anything Zazzle sells. You don't have to come up with money, or front any costs, or warehouse a lot of items that won't sell. You can set your profit to .00 cents or $10 or more or less to your liking. Zazzle handles the payments, the shipping and the dropship delivery. You don't have to do a thing. If you want a professionally designed logo, then go to 99designs.com and offer $100 or $150 for a design. Artists compete to produce the best design and you pick the one you like and that lucky designer gets the $150. You don't see anything you like (that's rare) and you only pay $50 for the website's time and hassle.
