Thought someone might have an idea before I start taking things apart.  This unit has an awning like i've never seen (this is my first class B+ or C)  It's got the normal tube, or roll-up shield, but there are no tracks down the side of the unit for the up-rights,or braces.  There are two legs folded up into the bottom of the opening for the awning and there are two screws through the plastic cover into the metal legs but they don't look like factory.  More like someone was afraid things would start falling off.  There's nothing to hold onto to pull and no other mechanism in sight.  Unless someone can give me a path I'm going to start unscrewing things to see what I've got.  This has been, and continues to be, a learning experience.

Hi John, could you post a pic or two, somebody will have seen one and knows how they work.  Hope this helps, Tony, Joy and Cool Paw Luke

Here are pics, it kinda looks like the business end of a closed up hermit crab to me.  And,yes, someone used a roller to paint over the stripes.

Hi john in a nut shell. loosen the black knobs, stick awning pole in small  hole or a screw driver and slide arm over. see arrow. arms are spring loaded and should hang down now, grab strap or both arms and roll out awningthe arms lock out tighten knobs . the arms can go to the ground or snap into a clip on side of coach . the arms have a little clip thing that locks the arms to awning when up . mine works ok but not great. the springs are strong . my brackets on side of coach are a black nylon . hope this works , dont give up. let me know if you need more help . good luck Ron.............

Found part of the problem.  The left hand arm assembly is missing (on order) and the pull down strap is gone.  Pulled it out some and the awning looks to be in good shape.  I'll know more when the new arm gets here and I can support that end.
