Electrical Problem

Newbie here.  After years of tent camping and added age I come to the conclusion that sleeping on the ground was no longer my friend.  So last year I purchased a used 2003 Starcraft Pop-Up camper.  The camper had only been used one time since it's initial purchased and only twice since my purchase.  This weekend I went camping only to find that the interior lights and furnace no longer worked.  The battery was in full charge at 12.5 volts.  The interior lights would beep when switched on but not light up.  The gas furnace would cycle through the ignition (clicking) but not ignite.  I checked the two major fuses at the battery (20&30A) and they were good. 

OK after cleaning the fuse terminals I plugged them back in and nothing.  But now with the fuse in the two front clearance light stay on (even disconnected to the towing vehicle. 

After sleeping w/o the furnace I returned home the next day.  I checked the fuses in the converter ( Elixir ELX-25) which were L-R (15A-1A-15A-30A) and they were all good.  The AC breakers were also switched off and then on. The converter is 8A Input & 25A output.

Does anyone have a clue or where to start looking?

Hi, When you checked the fuses, do you mean that you pulled the fuses and they looked good, or did you use a tester and confirm that that there was power on the output side of the fuses?

I checked the fuses with a Ohm meter and there was continuity.

Hi, All that I can suggest is to start where there is known power (checked with volt meter or light).  Then follow to where the power drops down.  Not familiar with your system, but when you state that power is still present when tow vehicle disconnected, suggests that your main power is from the tow vehicle.  Could there be a battery in the camper that is dead and drawing down the tow vehicle battery?

No camper battery within the camper only on the tounge.  What I was meaning was that with the power from the battery feeding the camper nothing is working except the two front camper clearance lights which should not be working unless it is connected to the tow vehicle with the tow vehicle lights engaged.  This did not occur before when everything was working correctly.  Wondering if the Converter might be bad.

As to the furnace, did the pilot light stay on. The thermocouple may be faulty and if it has not been used fro a while all the gas orifices may need cleaning with a tip cleaner.

OK Problem solved.  I checked all the fuses especially on the converter and all were good.  I then started at the tounge and worked my way back cleaning the ground connections on the frame.  I then found a double ground which actually grounds the converter and the AC.  After cleaning the clearence lights went off.  All the lights and furnace is working fine.  Thanks everyone for your help.
