I am about to replace all the plumbing in our 1967 Holiday Rambler with 1/2 inch ped., and a hot water on demand water heater....has anyone else gone this route ???

Hi, I went that route several years ago; purchased the crimp-er from Lowe's for $100.  I love it!  My only complaint is that you have to plan ahead when working in tight places because the crimp-er needs a lot of space to operate in.  Maybe there is (I have been out of the country for several years), or somebody will design a ratchet configuration to make it easier in tight places.  As concerns the on demand HW, I also bought the smallest HW heater that Lowe's had (maybe six gallons); I plug it in and the water is hot in ten minutes.

I will look for a good, (small) crimper. And thank you for the reminder to plan ahead..not one enjoy tearing out what I just did...lol !!!
