Insulating the dog house??

Hello everyone.  Just need some input as to what is everyone using to insulate the engine side of the dog house?  What do they use in race cars and is it realistic to use the same product in my '77 Travco.  Have you been insulating both sides of the dog house and then cover the inside with a good thick carpet to dut down on noise and more especially the heat???

Steve, check out marine engine compartment insulation.  Not the least expensive thing in the world but worth looking at.  Around 10 years ago I used it to more or less sound proof an engine compartment holding two Volvo 4 cyl engines.  Just Googled, "marine engine compartment insulation", a gazillion hits.
