A few weeks ago I purchased a 1973 Shasta Statoflyte.  The camper is currently titled in New York and I am trying to get it titled in Pennsylvania.  I have the original New York title; however, the gentleman I am working with at the title and tag place is insisting I find the metal plate on the camper that has the VIN, gross vehicle weight and other information imprinted on it.  I cannot find such a plate on my camper.  Would anyone be able to tell me where I might find this metal plate or the information needed?  Any information will be greatly appreciated.

What model/size is your Shasta?
I don't know what model it is; the title doesn't say. The camper is 18 feet.
Debbie, The information that you need is probably on the tongue of the trailer. Look on the top surface on the right side of the hitch (street side). It should be stamped into the hitch metal. It was on the 73 I had. Don't know about a "plate" as such, the VIN was stamped directly on the hitch. If the hitch and tongue have been painted, you may have to carefully scrape the paint off with a brass brush to get down to the original metal finish. Hope that helps some.

Thanks, Liz. I will look for it there.
