The tired ramblings after 13 hours of driving, 510 miles.

1st. Texas roads are so good because they are continuously under construction.

2nd. Dallas drivers are deranged.

3rd. Louisiana roads come in 2 styles. Smooth and nice or designed to rearrange your vehicle, RV, and your innards with the added benefit of having you hat jammed down around your ears so it won't just randomly fall off.

4th. Never trust that the dozen plus RV parks near your ending point will have a space available.

I am in a Super 8 motel in beautiful Pearl, Mississippi. All the parks on google in a 12 mile radius have no free spots for the night. UGH.. . Lesson learned LOL.

I saw 4 RVs, all trailers, with a flat shoe and body damage today. FYI check your tires every morning before heading out. It may save a costly repair.

Another big thank you to Lakota Wolf for helping me with the trailer brakes. On the off ramp at N I35 heading to E I20 we went from 50 MPH to zero in about 75 feet. Wet road and all brakes locked up. But I got stopped. There was a jacked knifed semi right at the I20 E on ramp.

I will be pulling out again tomorrow. Where I end up is a guess at this point. But rest assured that I will have a space lined up.

Be safe all.

Hi John, at this point in time i don't know. Hopefully I qill be able to answer that by August. It is my fervent hope to be exploring the gulf coast all winter long but will let you know when I know.

Russ, theres alllllllllllll kinds of free beach dry camping between South Padre Island Natl Seashore all the way up to Galveston and Bolivar Flats. I plan to be there between Dec 3 and Dec 11 this winter and Austin rest of the time. Who knows maybe our paths will cross.
