1973 Winnebago Brave - dodge chassis with 440 - how to remove / replace the radiator

My radiator has been in good condition and had it flushed this spring as normal preventive maintenance. But it has been acting up, has leaked lightly a couple times but appears to solve its own problem and plug itself before the leak location can be found.

My local mechanic (not an RV specialist), said he could get it rebuilt for $300 so that was the plan as I did not want to be on the road when it became a bigger problem, but now they can't figure out to remove it. When looking into it they were told the rad was installed during the initial build and it is physically welded inplace. So a major rework / cutting and welding are required.

I did some surfing of the interweb and found the following two articles. The first seems to imply it is easy-ish and the second some cutting and welding.

Anyone come across this issue as well and have any suggested input ?
