1962 Robin Hood Cadet Coach

Well here I am. The proud owner of a 1962 Robin Hood Cadet Coach. Neglected, sad, and having no sense of purpose. So I have embraced this derelict. Gently restoring the Robin Hood to it's former glory. (I can type that in about 5 seconds,) the reality is that we, that being a partnership, of trailer, and myself, are in for the long haul.

So I am reaching out to all of you, who have been on the journey that I have begun. I can not find much in the way of information regarding the history of Robin Hood. Who built them? Where? How do I find parts, that are original? So many questions. I am finding out, that thinking out of the box is a requirement.  

So I am turning to those of you that have the knowledge, and most importantly, the patience to gently prod me along. It is either that, or long sessions in therapy.

All three pups look exceptional. You can tell they spend a lot of time with their two legged companions. Steve you are something else to be licking strange dogs noses though. I look forward to your future posts.

Wow! Thanks for the information. Where do you live? It would be fun to trade stories. The one I bought is a 15 ft, built in 1962. It has the original icebox, and stove. The settee cushions are original, as well as the light fixtures. 

I am just starting to tear out all the water damaged interior paneling. I have removed all the windows, and resealed those, as well as the roof. The trailer tail lights are a mess. But I do have the original wedding cake taillight lenses. The water tanks is next up.

Here is our Robin Hood.

It is really solid on the outside. All the windows, and screens are intact. I did take all the gutters down, and cleaned 50 some years of sealant off of them. reattached them with stainless pan head screws. They looked to good. I have replaced every single exterior slot screw with the stainless screw. Spendy, and I have probably added 20 pounds to the trailers weight.

But it looks to much better. As a note, I have kept every screw, bracket, sink drain, license plate bracket,ect. So if anyone may be in need of those sort of things. I would gladly donate them.

I am shooting for original, but sometimes you gotta pick your battles.

I will do that. Well I spent the day putting on a new top wind jack. Decided to leave the original jack in place as well. 

So the Phoenix is slowly rising!

Steve i just bought a 1962 Robin Hood i live about 90 miles north of Seattle outside is in great shape inside ok im looking forward to restoring it
