Been there many times Jack, see people on and say Hi and it's like where'd they go! so I've decided if some one see's me on and want's to say hi I'll say hi back . Just don't like being rejected I guess!
Ok, I've had a lot of experience as the webmaster of chats. In my capacity I was reserved and happy just to give folks a place to mingle. Here's my opinion, blog authors are always a good draw.
So here you go, Folks have to show up at a day and time. There's a manners list. First when you enter you announce yourself "Hello (folks) (All), glad your here tonight." If someone wants to respond they will greet. Greeters should realize everyone sees it.
I allowed user chats, Whoever opened it would receive requests to join. Those wanting a more private conversation would use PM (private message).
I haven't taken the time to research the admin options and permissions of this forum. So I am speaking in generalities.
I am gonna give it one more effort. I will be in the chat thursdays 8pm and mondays 8pm (central)
Way my bad Jack! We'll get it. You got any suggestions?
over and out.
I think that the time zone difference may effect some as far as connecting with some people but it may be just that many are not familiar with the site. After all it is all the way down at the bottom of the page and I had to help one guy learn how to use it.
Jack,
10-4 time zones.
10-4 Link placement
Rich I expect an inactivity timer removes them once the posts refresh. They forgot to disconnect. Yeah Jack just like I did! Ooops!
