I HAVE SPENT 5 YEARS LOOKING FOR A TRAVCO {60S| AND I FINALLY FOUND ONE
A 1968 270 IN AMAZING CONDITION
EXCEPT FOR SOME CARPET CHANGE IT WOULD BE 95 % ORIGINAL NO CRACKING IN FIBERGLASS
WITH ORIGINAL FINISH
WAS STORIED FOR MANY YEARS A IT WAS OWN IN AR AND CAL THIS MAY HAVE A GREAT DEAL TO DO WITH FINISH AND CONDITION
WE WILL MAKE SURE ALL MECHANICAL IS UP TO DATE AND LONG DISTANCE CONDITION
AS IS I DROVE IT HOME 400 MILES WITH NO PROBLENS
AND HAD IT SERTIFIED FOR 152.00 DOLLARS [PARKING BRAKE]
I WOULD LIKE TO FIND SOME TAILELIGHT LENS RED BECAUSE I WANT TO CHANGE THE BACK UP LIGHTS

great to hear from you :) Mine is a 1964, 270. When we got it the floors needed to be replaced in much of it. We kept most of it original but we have new passenger/driver seat, and since the dinette was missing we opted to install 2 couches/benches facing each other instead. She's a fun project and super comfortable.

How would you change the back up lights to brake lights?
THIS TRAVCO HAS THE STRAP UP BUNKS THAT ARE CONVERTED FROM THE COUCH
WHITE VINAL
IT WOULD BE NICE IF ALL THE TRAVCO OWNERS WOULD MEET
THIS HAS NOT BEEN DONE I AM TOLD FOR SOME YEARS
TIME FOR ME TO GO TO BED
I AM IN ONTARIO CANADA
FOR GOT TO MENTION I IMPORTED 270 FROM US
HARWOOD
SORRY
TEST AT RED LIGHT FOR WIRE THAT HAS POWER WHEN HEAD LIGHTS ARE ON [YOU CAN TELL BECAUSE THE OTHER WIRE WILL BLINK WHEN SIGNALS ARE ON]
MOVE THAT WIRE TO SINGLE WIRE AT CLEAR BACK UP LIGHT [THERE ARE ONLY TWO WIRES AT THIS LIGHT GROUND AND POWER]
CUT BACK UP WIRE AND SPLICE WIRE FROM OTHER LIGHT THAT YOU KNOW HAS POWER WHEN YOU TURNED THE HEAD LIGHT ON
NOW BACK UP LIGHT BECXOMES RUNNING LIGHTS AND THE OTHER ONE IS BRAKE AND SIGNAL MAKE SURE ANY CUT WIRES LEFT ARE TAPED FOR SAFTY REASONS
DO SAME ON OTHER SIDE
HARWOOD
I'm in Alberta and I also imported mine from the USA, Montana :)

It would be great to have a travco rally/camp out! :)
SOUNDS LIKE A GOOD IDEA
CAMP OUT
SOMEWHERE CENTRAL FOPR ALL OWNERS WOULD EQUAL DISTANCE
THINK ABOUT IT
IM SURE YOU WILL COME UP WITH AN IDEA

Hi I am in Toronto and wanted to know how the import goes with an American motor home?
Do they treat it like a car or a comercial vehicle?
I'd love to get my family a motorhome but didnt think they could be brought over.
Thanks.
"Vehicles are exempt from the Registrar of Imported Vehicles (RIV) registration if they are imported under one of the following conditions: Vehicles older than 15 yearsThe vehicles (excluding buses) are 15 years old or more based on the date of manufacture, or are buses (including school buses) manufactured before January 1, 1971. The importer must be able to prove the age of the vehicle." http://www.riv.ca/RIVExemptions.aspx

I did use this site for some info back when I was importing: http://people.ucalgary.ca/~schultz/bordercrossing.html

also here is my first blog post which talks a little about the import process:

hi, I have just bought a 69 210, and I am looking for the front passenger bench set, which can change into rear facing and folds down to make a bed. Does anyone have one for sale or knows of one? please mail me at bou_ving@ yahoo.com.

thx

Wiebe

where can I find new leaf springs for my 1964 travco 27'.  What truck chassis is it built on and will that truck suspension work. Quarter round side  window seals anyone?

FYI I'd suggest looking on eBay and vintage car book sites to find this chassis manual as it has been very helpful for our 1964 travco motorhome work;
