Well after WAY too long the old gal has a new rebuilt engine and is purring like a tiger. Had the fun job of siphoning out 50 gallons of very old gas. We are now turning our attention to updating the inside.

Here is a picture of me as a pre-teen getting ready to ride up the Alaska highway with my dad and my grandparents.  If you look to the left, you can see the hitch hooked up to the mustang.  Yes, my father used his 1965 Mustang Fastback to tow this 23' Holiday Rambler up the alcan.  He was a welder and he did the custom hitch himself.  Mr. Toad's wild ride comes to mind.  Sometimes the mustang pulled the trailer and on the other side of the hill, the trailer pushed the mustang.

Looking for information on wiring thats in the original house battery location. ( Ill post a picture or two of it) I have moved them and temporarily have extended the cables and such. I have all the paperwork,manual etc on this but it does not show or list what's what.

Hey Phillip...

I would be surprised if that's a factory camera/monitor setup, I installed all the cameras on mine and it depends on how it was powered and from where.   My rearview camera is on all the time, not just as a backup camera and if it were me I would start looking for power options near the monitor where the image is produced ; IF of course this is an aftermarket setup.  Generally speaking, the power comes up the wire with the image from the camera and breaks out often times with an inline fuse.  If it's rigged only for backup purposes, they can be tapped into the steering column, or the backup-light power circuit.  If you can locate that power lead going back to the camera, then you can at least find out if it's getting power.  If it is, then maybe swap out the camera with a new one, they're cheap on Ebay and will unplug from the cable going forward pretty easily.   Let me know if I can be more help!

I have a question for any HR owners. I have a 87 with a backup camera. Has anyone ever had to work on their camera systems ? I can't get an image. It could be an issue with the camera. It's possible that it's not getting power. I just hooked up a small backup camera on my Pickup truck so I am thinking it could be where it gets power when you put it in reverse. Does anyone have any thoughts.
